Man Narrowly Escapes as Out-of-Control Car Crashes Into Gas Station

A man in Nebraska had a near-death experience when a speeding sedan lost control and slammed into a gas station—missing him by just inches.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on September 12 at a station along Highway 30, east of North Platte, Lincoln County. Security footage shows a red sedan spinning out of control at high speed, smashing through a signpost, and flipping onto its side before skidding directly toward the station.

At that moment, a man was cleaning the windshield of his pickup truck. Startled by the noise, he turned around just as the car slid past, striking his leg but miraculously leaving him with only minor injuries. His truck, however, sustained visible damage.

Despite limping from the impact, the man rushed over to check on the driver. Police later transported the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators reported the sedan was traveling at least 65 mph (96 km/h) in a 40 mph (64 km/h) zone. The driver now faces multiple charges, including reckless driving, operating without a license, no insurance, and expired registration.

🙏 Witnesses described the man as “incredibly lucky.” He himself said he was simply thankful to walk away alive, calling it a blessing that the speeding car didn’t hit him head-on.
